Another Amazing Break thru from Israel – T&T really needs to link up with this nation!
A few days ago I did an article on T&T’s Economic Diversification Solution (EDS) being tied to forming a close alliance with Israel. In this post, I would like to highlight yet another amazing Israeli robotics company: ReWalk, founded by Dr. Amit Goffer. It is changing the lives of people who suffer from paralysis.
In 2001 Dr. Goffer was in an ATV accident that left him paralyzed. He was dissatisfied with his options for mobility and decided to discover other possibilities for himself and others like him. His company has designed a revolutionary exoskeleton that allows wheelchair-bound individuals to walk.
The device consists of a metal frame, motion sensors, and a computer system that work together to control movement. Wearers of the exoskeleton are allowed a wide range of motion including standing upright and climbing and descending stairs. Those who wish to use the exoskeleton are given thorough training on how to safely use it. This exoskeleton is now available worldwide and ReWalk hopes to make it more financially accessible.
It would be much more profitable if the present Trade Minister Paula Gopee-Scoon set up a Trade Mission to go to Israel rather than crying down the place recently while delivering the feature address at a business meeting hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce of Trinidad and Tobago (Amcham).
Gopee-Scoon was delivered an almost-35-minute-long speech during which she discussed the economic challenges facing the country. The tears flowed nearing the end of her presentation, as she pleaded for citizens to be patriotic and supportive in the face of an economic downturn.
This is the answer Madam Minister, you only need to reach out and grab it.
